with the exit of Forbidden Horizon West and Ring Elden, It’s been a big two weeks for AAA games. But even if you’re not fully into any of these titles just yet, it’s a great weekend to pick up some discounted games, headphones, or other gaming accessories. Take a look below to expand your game library or upgrade your peripherals for less.
Special offer for Gear readers: get a One year subscription to WIRED for $5 ($25 off). This includes unlimited access to WIRED.com and our print magazine (if you wish). Subscriptions help fund the work we do every day.
The SteelSeries Arctis Prime is one of our favorite gaming headsets for under $100, and right now it’s way under. You get a comfortable ski goggle-style headband, and the Prime is pretty good at filtering out background noise, despite the lack of active noise cancellation. If you’re fine with a wired gaming headset, this is a great choice.
These headphones feature some of the best noise-canceling technology, so you’ll have crystal-clear sound for your Discord friends despite the background noise in your home. (And you won’t hear anything but them and the game too.) This offer is also available at Target.
The AirPods Max (8/10, WIRED recommends) are overpriced, and while this discount isn’t huge, it’s not very common. They have some of the best build quality, sound quality, and comfort among the headsets we tested. That’s close to the lowest price we’ve seen for them.
If you’re looking for a pair of headphones for your Switch, it’s hard to do better than the Galaxy Buds2 (9/10, WIRED Recommends). They come with active noise cancellation, a dual-driver array to deliver great bass, and IPX2 water resistance. These are also our favorite headphones for Android phones, so you can cover both bases with one pair.
Gaming Accessory Deals
I love my little Stream Deck. This customizable array of 15 LCD keys is useful for more than gaming. Whether you want to use it to automate parts of your Twitch broadcast or just get the job done, it’s a handy and unique accessory. It doesn’t go on sale often, and apart from a really big price drop during Black Friday, it’s about as cheap as we’ve ever seen.
It’s hard to spend time on Twitch without seeing this microphone pop up in someone’s stream. As well as rivaling the acclaimed Blue Yeti on sound quality (for a USB mic), it also features eye-catching LEDs built into the microphone itself for a striking look. It’s perfect if you need a microphone that’s going to spend a lot of time in front of the camera.
If you’re fine with a 1080p monitor (as opposed to something higher resolution), the Samsung Odyssey G3 is an excellent 27-inch external display. It supports AMD’s FreeSync technology (great if your PC or laptop uses an AMD graphics card), and it has a 144Hz refresh rate, which should be more than enough for most fast-paced games. The included adjustable stand even lets you rotate the monitor to portrait orientation for work sessions. We’ve seen it drop to $200 on occasion, but it’s still a lot.
Video game deals
